Reflection on the Profiles
  • Profiles/ Ground plates
  • Name the parts and explain their functions/purpose
Braces: to help keep timber plumb or keep it from moving.
Joists:
Piles: holds up the bearers above the ground and keeps the height of the building.
Bearers: hold or supports the joist and keep the frame of the building square
Studs: used for the wall frames. acts like a joist in the frames.
Solid Blocking:
Jack Posts:
Nogs: goes in between the studs to avoid the studs from bending in the middle and keeps it strong.
